Praanvi Gupta set the Guinness World Record for the ‘Youngest Yoga Teacher (Female)’ at the age of 7 years and 165 days. What began as a pastime and passion for the young Indian has now evolved into a full-fledged job. She is, however, not the first person from the nation to accomplish such a feat. Reyansh Surana became the youngest yoga instructor (male) in 2021, at the age of 9 years and 220 days, before Gupta surpassed him.
Praanvi finished the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course and was authorised and qualified as an RYT200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) by the Yoga Alliance.
Praanvi began imitating her mother’s positions and actions when she was just over three years old, after witnessing her mother practise yoga. She would eventually practise it on her own. Gupta began yoga courses at the age of seven around five months ago. It was during these yoga classes, which she attended in between school vacations, that the kid found her love for exercise and decided to promote it through teaching. With her outstanding achievements, the student has received multiple Gold medals in International Olympiads. According to Guinness, Praanvi commented, “This voyage was not simple due to my normal school, which was also ongoing” as per the Guinness World Records website.
“But, with the help of my teachers and parents, I am delighted to say that I completed and passed the Yoga Teachers Training Course qualifying test,” she said. Gupta’s love for teaching yoga resulted in the creation of a YouTube channel called ‘Learning with Praanvi,’ where she educates children and adults about various yoga concepts while also sharing her personal experience with everyone.
