    Twinkle Khanna, a former performer and writer, recently revealed her recommendations for a youthful and healthy-looking body and mind on her YouTube channel Tweak India. The author told seven fitness tips, one of which was inspired by renowned actor Waheed Rehman himself!

    Make contact with nature

    Twinkle said that when she was younger, her sole aspirations were to have a child, a dog, and a garden. She said that today, when her dog and kids ‘bheja-fry’ her, she goes to her garden for some “me time” with her plants.

    “Agar garden na bhi ho, apne window and balconies mein plant zarur lagayie (even if you don’t have a garden, have plants on your window sills and balconies), they quickly elevate your mood, increase focus, and with them around, you destress.”

    Eat small and make big differences

    “This I learned from Waheeda Rehman ji; when you eat less at night, your body may relax instead of expending energy on burning down your meals. Main bhi ab Waheeda ji ki tarah roz supper mein omelette khaati hun (I eat omelettes for dinner, too, like Waheeda ji), and then I’m off to bed by 10 p.m.,” Twinkle confessed.

    Twinkle then went on to disclose that despite being a lousy singer, she has taken up guitar studying of late in order to bond with her young one, who plays the instrument, adding, “Gaana to the door I can’t even hum but to link with my little one who plays, I began learning how to play the guitar. Who knows, maybe I’ll get excellent at it one day.”

    Breathing exercises might help you wake up your brain

    The author, sometimes known as Mrs Funny Bones, recommended that her audience attempt these breathing techniques to relieve stress: “When it comes to making you appear and feel older, stress outperforms birthdays. You can do breathing exercises, and you feel calmer and energised in just five minutes.”

    Don’t shy away from the fun

    “Nothing is as holy as laughing, and I prefer to crack all the jokes on myself. Sing a hilarious tune, tell a horrible joke that will make your adolescents roll their eyes,” Twinkle grinned as she suggested another tip to stay young and active.

    Use sunscreen

    The author stated that after giving baby, she had spots and pigmentation all over her skin, so she now wears sunscreen at all times, especially when going out for a visit or an errand on a sunny day.

    Last but not least, Twinkle revealed what keeps her active and happy at all times: her books. Roald Dahl: The Collected Short Stories, PG Wodehouse: The World of Blandings, and Antoine de Saint-The Exupery’s Little Prince were among her three favourites.
