Shruti Seth, the Shararat actor who often posts training videos and fitness suggestions with her fans, recently released a video of herself executing Ardha Chandrasana, or the Half Moon Pose, with grace and poise, establishing fitness goals for many. The 44-year-old used a wooden chair to assist her to keep her stance while practising this therapeutic yoga asana.

Daily movement is required to maintain the body healthily and energetic. Sedentism can contribute to a plethora of health problems. As a result, one should always search for methods to include physical motions into their everyday routine. As a result, there’s nothing better than doing some yoga asanas from the comfort of your own home.

Approach

Shruti Seth demonstrated how to do this stance step by step.

  1. Begin in Sama Stithti.
  2. Maintain a 4 ft spacing between your feet (with your exact foot on the top of the mat) and elevate your palms in step with your shoulder.
  3. Extend the exact foot at a 90° angle.
  4. Bend your right leg and place your weight on your right foot.
  5. Reach your right hand forward and lay it on the mat or a block just beneath your right shoulder.
  6. Raise your left leg such that the thigh is parallel to the ground. Twist your body and hips as you slowly turn your chest to the left. Raise your left hand to the sky.
  7. Retain your focus on the floor or offer it gradually to your primary hand. Maintain a modest bend in your standing leg to avoid hyperextending your knee.
  8. Exit the stance in the same way you entered it.

  2. Improves stability.
  3. Strengthens the core muscular tissue.
  4. Provide a nice spinal stretch.
Who should stay away from it?

Shruti Seth, on the other hand, advises anybody with “low blood pressure, severe back pain or slipped disc, headache or migraine, and varicose veins” to avoid this posture.
