Every cricketer goes through physical preparation, but the way MS Dhoni developed his head put him apart from the pack. While he is a sixer machine, an excellent sprinter, and a skilled wicketkeeper, his mindset is his most valuable attribute. When combined with his on-field abilities, this resulted in a cricket career that generations will remember. We reveal the secrets to his overall fitness:

    Team practice

MS Dhoni’s fitness programme consists primarily of sports training. He enjoys going out on the field with his entire squad and helping each other improve their reflexes, endurance, and footwork. This not only helps the players bond but also improves their comprehension and coordination, which reflects in their performances.

Rather than bulking up his physique and striving to appear a specific way, MS Dhoni concentrates on improving his physical strength, bone density, and cardiovascular ability, which are, after all, the trademarks of a strong cricket player.

    Cardio

Everyone knows how quick and fluid MS Dhoni is between the wickets. His sprinting abilities are the result of his daily cardio workout, which includes running and agility drills. He strives to traverse short distances as quickly as possible while keeping time. According to legend, he once beat Hardik Pandya, who is half his age, in a 100-meter race. So much for athletes having a shelf life!

MS Dhoni is not a huge fan of working out at the gym, but given the long hours that some cricket matches go, he devotes an hour or two to it every day to improve his muscular strength and endurance. Dumbbell chest press, v grip pulldowns, one-leg deadlifts, and machine chest press are some of his favourite workouts.

    The variety in sports

He must squat for lengthy periods of time as a wicketkeeper. He works on squats, lunges, and their variants for this. MS Dhoni likes to mix things up every now and again by playing football, badminton, or golf. This provides him with both a change of scenery and a fresh perspective on his own game. It also tests the limits of his physical fitness.

MS Dhoni used to eat everything from butter chicken and naan to chocolates, milkshakes, and soft drinks before he became a cricketer. He had to eliminate junk food from his diet since pursuing a career in athletics needed him to stay healthy and disciplined.

His favourite foods these days are kebabs and nutritious bread. His meals are portioned and cooked at home. They are high in protein and low in carbohydrates and lipids. He eats chicken, lentils, rice, chapati, and salad for lunch, and a chicken sandwich with curd or fresh juice for supper.

    Hydration

Because MS Dhoni must spend long hours on the cricket field, staying hydrated is critical to maintaining his energy levels. He’s known to drink large amounts of water throughout the day, as well as protein shakes and fresh juices to replenish electrolytes.

    Dairy adoration

MS Dhoni’s weakness is dairy items. He’s supposed to drink a lot of milk every day, as well as some yoghurt to go with his meals. This provides him with an increase in micronutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, potassium, and phosphorus, which strengthens his muscles and bones and increases his energy.
