You’d be in dire straits if you went consecutive days without drinking water. But the notion that eight glasses of water per day is ideal—that’s shaky reasoning. From the looks of it, we’re a civilization preoccupied with obtaining our eight glasses of water a day.

While being hydrated is crucial, how many of us see hydration doesn’t fully line up with what the research tells us. We’ve compiled a list of the most frequent ways you could be drinking water incorrectly, as well as what you should be doing instead. Read up, drink up, and don’t forget to stock up on the healthiest foods to eat right now while you’re at it.

Not drinking water with alcohol

Alcoholic beverages are diuretics, which means they cause your body to produce more urine. And excessive peeing might cause dehydration. To counteract this, drink one glass of water for every cup of coffee or alcoholic beverage you consume.

You underappreciated the water content in substantial foods

Approximately 20% of our regular H2O consumption comes from solid meals, specifically veggies and fruits. Although it is important to be careful of how much water your system requires, you may also replenish with fruits and vegetables, the majority of which are mostly water.

For example, a cucumber is 96.7 per cent water. However, except for pure water, these meals are high in a variety of minerals and vitamins. Drinking a considerable amount of water is a wonderful method to attain your health and fitness objectives.

Not drinking a full glass of water with pills

Do not drink only enough to get them down your throat. Take advantage of vitamins and medicine as a chance to hydrate. A full glass of water also prevents drugs from becoming lodged in your oesophagus and aggravating it. It also aids in the absorption of water-soluble vitamins.

Including artificial ingredients

It’s good occasionally, but it’s not something you should do every day. According to research, artificial flavourings and sweeteners may increase your risk of type 2 diabetes and cancer. They can also make you feel more hungry. Anything containing sugar, high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, or sucralose should be avoided. Instead, use lemon, lime, mint, herbs, or cucumbers. But don’t forget to first wash them.

“When I’m tired I don’t reach for it”

Do you feel tired but don’t know why? It might be an indication of dehydration. You don’t have to be unwell or engage in strenuous exercise to get thirsty. Every day, you lose water via essential bodily operations such as breathing and defecating.

You’re not taking your time

A glass or two of water is OK, but don’t get out of bed and drink a gallon. There is no proof that it increases your metabolism. You also don’t want to drink a lot before bed and spend the entire night in the bathroom. This interferes with your sleep. Instead, sip slowly throughout the day. Experts advise consuming no more than 1 litre each hour.

Taking a drink from a river or a stream

Natural water sources may appear clear and pure, but they can be contaminated by a variety of factors. Toxic plants, animal pee and dung, and illicit chemical dumping are examples of this. Before using natural water, use filtration tablets or water filters to clean it.

Summer skincare is more important than summer itself!

Summer is all about basking in the sun and spending time with friends and family. While summer offers us all of the fun and games, it also brings us those pesky tan lines. Exposure to UV radiation can induce tanning on the skin, which can be difficult to remove at times. As a result, it is essential to avoid tanning at all costs. Every season necessitates a unique skincare regimen, and summer skincare involves tanning avoidance. Furthermore, excessive sun exposure can accelerate skin ageing, and the sun’s damaging rays are bad for your skin’s health in the long term.

Ways to Avoid Tanning Effectively Using Summer Skincare

Arthi Raguram, Founder of Deyga Organics and Skin and Hair Expert, presented some efficient strategies to avoid tanning.

1. Apply sunscreen

Sunscreen is a must-have all year since it protects the skin from the sun’s UVA and UVB radiation. Apply sunscreen liberally to all exposed regions of your body during the summer, including your face, neck, hands, and legs. Use the two-finger approach to apply sunscreen to ensure you use the appropriate quantity on your skin. Carrying a sunscreen stick or spray is also a good choice for reapplying sunscreen every 2-3 hours. Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside in the sun.

2. Apply aloe vera gel

Aloe vera is an excellent summer skincare cooling agent. It not only soothes sunburn but also aids in tanning reduction. After a long, hot day, keep a container of aloe vera gel in the refrigerator and apply the cool gel. Apply some gel to your face, neck, hands, and any areas that require it. After 15 minutes, remove it with a moist towel. Your skin will feel instantaneously smooth and supple, and your tanlines will fade after a few uses.

3. Exfoliation is essential

Exfoliating your skin is one of the most effective strategies to avoid tanning. Exfoliation guarantees that your skin is free of dead skin cells and that your pores are not congested. Make a homemade scrub with yoghurt and tomato pulp and exfoliate your skin gently twice a week. Tomatoes are high in vitamin C, while yoghurt is high in lactic acid, which helps to eliminate sun tan. To remove tan, you may also use chemical exfoliation such as AHAs and BHAs. Before applying a chemical exfoliation, perform a patch test on your skin.

4. Make your own face and body pack

You may easily construct a tan removal pack for yourself with products from your kitchen. Combine 1 tablespoon yoghurt, 1 tablespoon gramme flour, 1 teaspoon sandalwood powder, and a pinch of turmeric. You can add raw milk or honey if you have dry skin. Apply this paste to your face and body and leave it to dry. Rinse it off with cold water and apply a little lotion afterwards. All of these substances provide natural brightening characteristics that aid in the prevention and removal of tan.

5. Protect yourself

To avoid tanning, wear full-sleeved clothing. While out in the sun, wear a cover-up or kimono. Wearing loose, cotton clothing may also be extremely soothing in the sweltering heat. Wear a hat or a bandana to keep your head protected.

So, let’s not allow tanning to ruin your summer pleasure by following the right summer skincare. Incorporate these skincare recommendations into your regimen and enjoy the summer to the fullest.

In the summer, it’s crucial to avoid colas and ice cream in favour of the appropriate liquids to prevent gastrointestinal health problems, dehydration, and heat stroke.

The brutal heat of the summer may ruin your appetite and mess with your digestive system. Lack of hydrating and cooling meals that calm the gut and provide you with the vitamins and minerals you need to maintain immunity is the main cause of most summertime diseases. While it’s common to want sweet and frozen delicacies in the summer, it’s best to consume things that really cool you down. In the summer, cooling foods like buttermilk, yoghurt, mint, chia seeds, and fennel seeds may be quite beneficial.

Therefore, if you’re using ice cream, carbonated beverages, and sweet delicacies to get through the summer, please avoid the urge because they will just increase your intake of empty calories.

“This heat wave is brutal. You run the risk of ingesting too many empty calories, particularly those enmeshed in sweets, if you do not control your hunger and your need to keep drinking or eating cold things, said nutritionist Anupama Menon.

According to Menon, there are several drinks you may have on an empty stomach in the morning or during the day to enjoy a healthy and disease-free summer.

DRINKS FOR AN EMPTY STOMACH

Chia seeds and lemon water

1 tsp of chia seeds were soaked overnight in 1/4 glass of water. The next morning, add 150 ml of water to the glass of chia seeds and water, then pour the juice of 1 lemon into the mixture. The cooling properties of chia seeds are said to support the Kapha (earth and water components). They’re designed to keep the body hydrated, the bowels moving easily, and the digestive system in good shape.

Cucumber juice

Consume cold-pressed cucumber juice with 4–5 mint leaves chopped in, a sprinkle of chat masala or kala namak, and 1 teaspoon of grated fresh mango. Cucumber has a high water content, which keeps the body hydrated while acting as a cooling and being easy on the stomach.

Water

Water is essential on its own, and in the summer, much more so. A body that was dehydrated while it was sleeping can be rehydrated by drinking two glasses of water first thing in the morning.

Yoghurt

Mix together 12 cups of yoghurt with a very little piece of grated ginger, a sprinkle of raw haldi, and pepper; store in the fridge. Consume this as soon as you wake up. Yoghurt throughout the summer months supplies the essential lactobacilli required to maintain the proper balance of gut microbiota.

RESTFUL SUMMER BEVERAGES

Menon offers more summertime beverages that one may have throughout the day.

You may have 200ml of coconut water or watermelon/orange juice that has been freshly squeezed without adding any water, together with 1 tsp of chia seeds, whenever you choose!

Yoghurt and cucumber slices make a delicious snack. Try mixing 100 ml of well-prepared 100 ml buttermilk with 100 ml of cucumber juice as well for a unique beverage that is perfect for a hot summer day.

To prevent the dangers of dehydration, drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water (plus or less, depending on your height and weight) each and every day, especially if you are out in the sun for longer than typical inactive hours.

Fresh tomato juice that has been produced without the peel of the tomato might really help the skin brown less. It also provides some Vitamins C and A.

Kefir and buttermilk are excellent for keeping the body cool and hydrated. Curry leaves, mint, or even minced ginger might be used as seasonings.

Mangoes are great summertime fruits when they are chopped up because they quickly satiate sweet cravings or the need for that sweet-loaded ice cream. Mango milkshakes and smoothies are delicious summertime beverages that don’t require any added sugar but nevertheless efficiently satiate your sweet tooth.

You could also combine together 2 tablespoons of peanut butter with chopped-up mangoes that have been frozen for around 5 to 6 hours to create a fake ice cream any day. Mangoes are rich in fibre, which helps to keep the digestive system healthy in the heat.

Anupama Menon says, “Keeping your digestive system healthy is crucial to preventing illnesses that you may easily develop over the summer.”

It’s time to adjust our eating habits to match the summer season now that it has arrived. We have all gobbled up a variety of fatty, ghee-filled goodies during the winter. However, a change in the type of food is also necessary because of the weather. Your meals should now be pleasant and light, and you should include things that will keep you hydrated for a long time. Of course, you need to consume a lot of refreshing drinks and water. There are other meals that accomplish the same thing.

Bottle gourd

The bottle gourd, also known as lauki, is incredibly nutrient-dense and offers a host of health advantages. It is fantastic for the stomach and is simple to digest. Also, it’s estimated that the bottle gourd contains 96% water. If you’re unable to savour the curry, then you might drink it in the morning as a juice. Make a beautiful juice using orange, pineapple, and bottle gourd and enjoy it.

Zucchini

To eat zucchini, you don’t need to cook it. It can be enjoyed without having to prepare it. It’s a common ingredient in salads. Like cucumber, courgette is said to be particularly hydrating, light, refreshing, and energising. Also, it is wonderful for your skin.

Lemon

Everyone is aware of the lemon’s value throughout the summer. We enjoy drinking lemon juice occasionally to cool down. Lemon-flavoured beverages are hydrating and excellent for strengthening immunity. Make sure you have enough lemon juice on hand during the summer and don’t forget to add it to a variety of dishes for an added kick of tang.

Green beans

Green beans are used to prepare a variety of curries that we serve with rice or chapatis. How many of you are aware that green beans may also help you stay hydrated? Sure, they are healthy, low in calories, and a great source of fibre, vitamin C, vitamin K, and manganese.

Cucumber

Cucumber is at the top of the list of common foods that help us keep hydrated. It is the most popular hydrating food we are aware of. It is simple to digest, maintains the condition of the skin, and provides the body with a jolt of new vitality. Have it daily with your usual meals during the summer.

If heat stroke is not treated quickly, it might be fatal. Some of its severe symptoms include a dramatic increase in body temperature, fast heartbeat, and unconsciousness.

Large portions of north India frequently face devastating heat waves in the height of summer, but this time the temperature spike in April is cause for alarm. As the body’s natural thermostatic system is altered by the intense heat, major health hazards result. Some of the typical ailments brought on by the sweltering weather outside are heat cramps, heat stroke, dehydration, exhaustion, diarrhoea, and disorientation.

Extreme weather conditions may potentially have long-term consequences. In several instances, it has been seen that the heat wave is making chronic health issues worse. Additionally, a quick rise in temperature causes behavioural changes in humans.

“Heat stroke is a major medical emergency that, if not addressed right away, might be fatal. According to Dr Rakesh Gupta, Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine – Ramkrishna CARE Hospitals, Raipur, it happens when the body’s temperature control mechanism fails to cool the body down, causing a dangerously high body temperature.

Heat exhaustion is brought on by protracted exposure to heat, and if left untreated, it can develop into heatstroke. When your core body temperature exceeds 104 F (40 C) or greater, you are experiencing a potentially fatal condition known as heatstroke. It

Your brain and other important organs may suffer long-term harm, which may even result in death.

Although heat exhaustion and heat stroke are similar, there are several key differences. A lack of water and extended exposure to extremely high temperatures are the two main causes of heat exhaustion. According to Dr Pavan Pai, Consultant Interventional Neurologist, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, this may cause profuse sweating, fast breathing, and a rapid yet weak pulse.

Drs. Rakesh Gupta and Pavan Pai discuss heat stroke symptoms you shouldn’t ignore:

High body temperature:

Heat stroke is frequently indicated by a core body temperature of 104°F (40°C) or greater. If this occurs, you should seek medical help right once.

Rapid heartbeat:

The rising body temperature may cause the heart to beat more quickly.

Rapid breathing:

Breathing faster may be an attempt by the body to cool itself down. Your heart is under a great deal of stress as a result of overheating. Why? To guarantee that your body’s natural cooling mechanisms keep your temperature under control, it needs to pump harder and faster. Breathing difficulties or hyperventilation might come from this.

Confusion or disorientation:

Heat stroke can have an impact on brain function, leading to seizures, confusion, or disorientation. A loss of coordination, confusion, rage, or an inability to walk is an important warning symptom of exertional heat stroke since it affects your central nervous system.

Headache:

A strong headache that is frequently accompanied by fainting or dizziness may be a sign of heat stroke. Dehydration or the overall impact of heat stroke on the central nervous system are the typical causes of this ailment.

Vomiting:

Vomiting and nausea are possible symptoms of the body’s normal reaction to a high body temperature.

Dry, hot skin:

Despite the elevated body temperature, the skin may feel dry, hot, and flushed and may not sweat.

Muscular cramps or weakness:

Heat stroke can result in weakness, loss of consciousness, or even muscular spasms. This is also referred to as heat cramps and is one of the first symptoms of heat exhaustion following activity. You may experience severe spasms when you perspire in suffocating heat, especially in your arms, legs, or belly.

Lack of sweat or too much:

Your body stops attempting to regulate its internal core temperature if you are exposed to high heat for a lengthy period of time. Therefore, if you have a traditional heat stroke (the kind that happens gradually), you may really stop perspiring. You’ll probably begin to perspire a lot if you have exertional heat stroke.

Dizziness:

As you continue to perspire, your body will gradually get dehydrated, resulting in feelings of nausea, sickness, or vomiting. When many organs are affected by heat, any of the symptoms of heat stroke described above may worsen and cause dizziness, fainting, nausea, or vomiting.

Skin rashes:

Both traditional and exertional heat strokes cause skin rashes when the body directs blood flow to the area to cool itself off. Your skin may also feel too damp or abnormally dry, depending on the type of heat stroke you experience.

“While you wait for emergency assistance, make quick steps to cool the overheated person. Emergency medical care is required for heat stroke. If heat stroke is not treated, it might quickly cause damage to your brain, heart, kidneys, and muscles. According to Dr Pai, the longer you wait to get treatment, the worse the damage gets, increasing your risk of serious complications or death.

In this article on skincare, we explain how sunscreen is a necessary step in skin care to guard against the damaging effects of UV radiation, which can include sunburn, dark spots, wrinkles, pigmentation issues, and even cancer.

Applying sunscreen each day is something you should do with extreme diligence. In actuality, it’s your three times daily application of sunscreen. No matter where you spend your day—inside, on a plane, playing sports, by the pool, working in a cubicle, out for lunch, on a stroll, or while in transit—crucial it’s to apply sunscreen. This is due to the sun’s UV rays, which also age skin cells and create wrinkles genetic damage and sunburn, and can even provoke cancer.

UVA, UVB, and UVC are the three wavelengths that make up ultraviolet light. UVA rays create a damaged texture and reduced elasticity because they enter the skin. Sunburns and cancer are linked to UVB rays because they strike the dermis’ outermost layers.

How sun-related photodamage feels and appears

In between the epidermis and subcutaneous tissue, in the centre of the skin, is the dermis. It contains proteins that influence the strength and flexibility of the skin, including collagen and elastin. Photoaging is brought on by the breakdown of these proteins, which are essential for keeping the skin smooth and youthful-looking.

Wrinkles, fine lines around the lips, eyes, and forehead, sagging skin from loss of elasticity, dark patches, pigmentation, and an uneven tone and texture are all symptoms of photoaging. Since UVA rays enter the dermis and induce an unnatural buildup of elastin, which in turn triggers enzymes to break down collagen, UV radiation can cause collagen to break down at a quicker pace than normal ageing. Sun exposure can result in the creation of free radicals in addition to the loss of collagen, the substance that gives cells their plump and healthy appearance (unstable oxygen molecules that damage cells at the molecular level). Sunburns, a more harmful form of photoaging, is brought on by a breakdown of DNA in the skin cells. This leads to hot, red, irritated skin.

Cancer is perhaps the most catastrophic harm that UV radiation can do. Melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma are the three main kinds of skin cancer that can result from UV exposure; they are all quickly propagating, metastatic tumours.

How does sunscreen function?

SPF stands for sun protection factor and measures how long it would take you to burn without sunscreen. This implies that using sunscreen with an SPF of 30 will protect you from UVB rays for 30 times longer than not wearing any. A broad-spectrum sunscreen will also be strengthened with UVA ray-reflecting chemicals if you desire it. The only restriction is that the sunscreen will feel more glue-like and sticky as you move up the SPF rung.

Sunscreen for everyone

There are two general categories of sunscreen that are suitable for various conditions or requirements. Zinc oxide or titanium oxide, which reflects light, is found in physical sunscreens. They work very well on delicate skin, however, other individuals may find them lacking because they frequently leave a white cast. Avobenzone or oxybenzone is a chemical sunscreen ingredient that may absorb UV radiation and disperse them through their chemical interactions. They are simple to apply but may aggravate some skin types.

There is sunscreen available for every person.

Go for a physical sunscreen that won’t bother the skin if you have delicate, easily inflamed skin that is furious. Make sure there is no alcohol in it because it might further zap the moisture.

Hyaluronic acid should be added to your sunscreen if you have really dry, flaking skin.

If you spend a lot of time in front of the computer or are really lazy: Just combine the actions you normally use to apply sunscreen and moisturiser.

You’ll need entirely waterproof sunscreen if you engage in physical activity, spend time by the pool, or spend too much time staring out the window.

If your skin is oily and prone to acne: Choose an item that won’t make the shine slicker.

Summer is making a huge comeback in the city. Although everyone else is grabbing for freshly squeezed juices and cold beverages, actress Karishma Tanna Bangera prefers a glass of water with sabja seeds mixed in. The -year-old took to Instagram to reveal that she drinks this infused water “throughout the day” since it is high in fibre and for “healthy stomach, hydration.”

Sabja seeds are regarded as a superfood due to their high nutritious content. The time it takes to soak up water and swell up is what distinguishes it from chia seeds. Dietician Vidhi Chawla outlines the distinctions between the seeds:

Unlike chia seeds, which take time to absorb water, soaked sabja seeds expand instantly. Chia seeds sink to the bottom of the glass, giving it a gel-like look. Sabja seeds are spherical, but Chia seeds are oval and somewhat bigger than Sabja.

Malika Singh, Certified Integrative Nutritionist & Health Coach, describes it as a powerhouse, saying, “They may carry a punch when added to your diet.” Sabja seeds are a strong source of Omega-3 fatty acids and are low in calories and high in fibre. They are rich in minerals such as potassium, manganese, copper, calcium, and magnesium, as well as vitamins C and folates, making them nothing short of miraculous seeds.

To reap the most advantages from this healthy drink, drink it first thing in the morning. They’re also great for keeping cool in the summer heat. While it is helpful to drink this cocktail on a regular basis, Chawla suggests adding some diversity to the mix after a time. “Take a vacation from sabja water and experiment with various seeds in your water.”

How to Make This Cocktail

Soak two tablespoons of sabja seeds for 20 minutes to an hour in a glass of water. Let the seeds swell. You may flavour the water with lemon juice and sugar, or add the soaked seeds to smoothies. Instead, you can sip this beverage throughout the day.

Skin and hair

According to Chawla, sabja seeds are a natural source of protein that aids in the development of bones and muscles. These seeds, which are beneficial to the skin, can encourage the formation of enzymes, hormones, and other biological compounds for enhanced body functioning,” she says.

Together with the benefits to your general health, Singh claims that consuming these small seeds on a daily basis is beneficial to your hair. “They can help prevent hair fall, and boost volume, and growth,” she adds. These seeds, when crushed into a powder, may be blended with any oil and applied to your hair for beautiful long locks.”

To lose weight

According to Chawla, Sabja seeds are high in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is formed from the seeds’ high amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids. “These acids help to enhance the body’s fat-burning metabolism.” Sabja seeds swell and release digestive enzymes when soaked in water. These digestive enzymes, when ingested, help to reduce your appetite and unwanted cravings. It’s also high in fibre, which keeps you fuller for longer and helps you avoid cravings.”

A glass of this water will satisfy your appetite, and the protein content of the seeds will keep you full for a long time. Sabja seeds are frequently used as an excellent weight-loss supplement.

Sabja seeds can be eaten as a pre-meal snack or mixed with yoghurt or sprinkled on a fruit salad. According to Singh, because sabja seeds are high in soluble fibre, they help regulate bowel movement, ease constipation, and even lower acidity and bloating.

Adverse consequences

Everything in excess is bad, and while drinking sabja-flavoured water has numerous benefits, it can also have undesirable side effects. “Excessive usage of sabja seeds has been known to cause diarrhoea, stomach pain, and decreased appetite,” Singh explains.

When used in excess, Sabja water can cause vomiting, nausea, acne, acid reflux, and headaches in certain people. “In rare cases, it can also induce low blood sugar.” According to Chawla, it is best not to add more than two tablespoons of soaked sabja seeds.

How to Consume Sabja Water

Sabja seeds are typically consumed with falooda, a traditional dessert made with rose milk and fresh fruits such as apples, grapes, chikoo, banana, mango, and dry fruits.

While it is a treat, milk and ice cream are abundant in calcium, phosphorus, and protein, making it a nutritious and healthful drink. Fresh fruits are abundant in vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, C, and antioxidants.

These may be included into a daily green apple celery kale drink to increase immunity.

Constipation is frequent throughout the summer months due to water loss caused by hot temperatures. Fruits and vegetable aid in the smoothing of stools and the ease of bowel movements. These are some fruits that you should consume during the summer.

Our gut health is linked to our entire health, so it’s no surprise that digestive difficulties like constipation, bloating, and acidity can have an impact on our mental health, causing mood disorders, poor energy during the day, and a variety of other health concerns. Constipation is diagnosed when there is no bowel movement or extremely firm stools for three days or longer. Other symptoms of persistent constipation include bloating, stomach discomfort, and cramping. Constipation is primarily caused by our diet.

Constipation is caused by eating deep-fried or low-fibre meals, drinking very little water during the day, and being under a lot of stress.

Consuming a well-balanced diet can aid in the treatment of digestive disorders. Fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes, and whole grains all have a significant quantity of soluble and insoluble fibre, which softens and bulks up the stools, making them easier to pass.

Dehydration is more frequent in the summer because of the scorching heat, perspiration, and increased need for water to keep the body cool. Constipation occurs when there is insufficient water in our system. Aside from fibre, there are a number of fruits that are high in water content and might benefit our gut health.

“Mango, berries, grapes, watermelon, papaya, apples, bananas, sweet oranges, and muskmelon are among the most popular summer fruits. The main benefit of fruit is that it is high in water content, many of them are high in fibre, and they also help reduce sugar cravings. All of these factors have a role in treating constipation and boosting the benefits of prebiotics in the stomach “Anupama Menon, a nutritionist, said in an interview.

Constipation can also be caused by consuming high-sugar, high-calorie foods on a frequent basis. Those post-lunch sweet cravings may persuade you to indulge in that tempting dessert you’ve been avoiding all day.

“When we have sugar cravings, especially in the evenings when stress wears us down, nothing can stop us from grabbing for sinful chocolates/desserts and then wondering what struck us after that incredible sugar high. Sugar has a negative impact on the gut and is maybe one of the leading causes of constipation”, Menon explains.

According to the dietitian, eating fruits is an excellent approach to not only avoid sugar cravings but also to boost your intestinal health.

One apple a day helps keep stomach problems at bay. Apples contain pectin, a soluble fibre that is believed to ease constipation. Remember to eat apples with their peel, therefore choosing organic apples may be useful.

Oranges

Oranges, both juicy and sweet, are an excellent approach to avoid constipation. Oranges have a high fibre content as well as Vitamin C, which provides us with a healthy dosage of antioxidants.

Papaya

Papaya is one such summer fruit that, if consumed as a night snack or evening snack, may help with regular bowel movements.

Prunes and black raisins

Ayurveda, the ancient Indian health system, has often said that one can only get all of the advantages of drinking enough volumes of water if one drinks it appropriately. That’s correct. If you are one of those people who drink water in one gulp, you should stop right now. According to Ayurveda, drinking water wrongly can cause various issues, including a disruption in the digestive process.

First and foremost, never drink a glass of water all at once. Drink it gently, one sip at a time.

Second, never drink water shortly before or after eating a meal. This can dilute gastric juice, making it difficult for your body to digest and absorb nutrients from meals.

If you’re thirsty, drink water 30 minutes before your supper or wait 30 minutes afterwards.

Before food – slows digestion

After eating – acts as a poison, increasing absorption and making individuals fat

It is good to allow 45 minutes between meal and drink consumption. If you’re thirsty just after eating, try the following. These include water and will help with digestion.

Fresh fruit juice after breakfast

Buttermilk after lunch

Milk after supper

Furthermore, gulping down water does not truly assuage your thirst.

Drink warm water as well to aid digestion. A glass of warm water hydrates better than a glass of cold water.

When you’re thirsty, drink some water. Your regular water need will be met if enough water is available whenever your body requires it. Stop when you’re content and your thirst has subsided.

The colour of your pee will reflect whether or not you are well hydrated. If it’s dark yellow, it signifies you need to hydrate your body by drinking a lot of water. If the body is properly hydrated, the urine will be clear or light yellow in colour.

If the body is not well hydrated, the lips will get dry and chapped.

Another thing you must do while drinking water is slow down to consume it. When you stand to drink a glass of water, you face the danger of a number of health issues.

When you drink water while standing, it flows through your system in a single rush. It readily exits your system and enters your colon. Drinking it slowly permits the fluid to visit all of the body’s organs, where it is meant to accomplish its work. Toxins from the kidneys and bladder are deposited as a consequence.
