    TIP 1: CLEANSE

When it comes to skin care, we cannot stress this enough. Cleanse your skin before and after your workout. Remove that make up, if any, before the work-out. After your workout, you should cleanse your face pretty quickly; no more than 5 minutes should elapse in order to prevent the sweat settling onto your face. Now don’t be harsh on your skin. Use a gentle cleanser to wash your face. Being too harsh will break down your skin instead.

Use a toner or mist to soothe your skin. Make sure to use one which is alcohol free. When you exfoliate, you’re actually sweeping away dead skin cells, dirt, and other pollutants that have built up on your skin over time. Exfoliation will help hydrate your face as it retains some of the water particles and locks them into your skin. Use it right before you have to apply moisturizer.

    TIP 3: HANDS OFF

And make sure your towel/sweatband is washed regularly!

    TIP 4: STAY HYDRATED

When we talk about hydration, we mean inside and out. Make sure you drink plenty of water after your workout to replace the fluids lost through sweating. More water will also increase the intensity of your workout. Not only will this stop you feeling lightheaded and thirsty, it will also ensure your skin isn’t dry, itchy or dull-looking as a result of post-workout dehydration.

Use a hydrating face spray to cool down your skin after exercising. So, focus on hydration too.

    TIP 5: EYE-CREAM & SUNSCREEN

skin-careDon’t forgot to take care of the windows of your body. After the moist your skin, you need to apply eye cream. Don’t break the continuity of doing so, as it will take some time for you eyes to adjust to that routine. Skin care routine does mean taking care of the eyes as well.

Sun is the number one reason why your skin may age prematurely. Even if you work out indoors, the UV rays from your window may still affect your skin. If you don’t apply the sunscreen, might as well use the blinders. But seriously, use the sunscreen.

Working out is fantastic for your skin and body but you also need to make sure you’re taking care of it before and after to avoid breakouts or damage. With a little preparation and the right products you ensure you have glowing, healthy-looking skin.
